Forma Sahara motorcycle boots: Water to cool your feet!

Do you know your feet steamed in your motorcycle boots? We discovered in Milan the solution that Forma offers to overcome this problem. Its Sahara boots feature an innovative cooling system, to discover here!

Evaporation is one of the most efficient cooling vectors. It is also on this principle that human perspiration works: letting the body's moisture evaporate to lower its temperature. Forma has decided to take this concept into its own hands in a pair of boots soon available from us, the Sahara.

Forma Sahara boots, a little freshness for your feet!

Rather designed for summer, these road boots each include a small water reserve of a few centimeters, to be filled before hitting the road. The liquid, which is not in contact with the skin at any time, diffuses around the ankle, then evaporates at the instep thanks to the action of the wind induced by rolling on a mesh textile area. The drop in temperature is not symbolic since it would reach 5 to 15°C less depending on the conditions (wind speed, ambient humidity level, etc.). A real plus for comfort!

Cooling Boot, an evaporative cooling system

Forma developed this system called Cooling Boot in collaboration with Inuteq, a Dutch company specializing in evaporative cooling. This principle would offer good autonomy despite the modest capacity of the reserve (20 ml). It would thus prove effective for at least 8 hours, a sufficient window in our opinion to “refuel” even after a day of travel. The Italian manufacturer of motorcycle boots even assures that it can remain operational for up to 72 hours…

A solution that does not call into question the road capacities of the Sahara

The good news is that sahara boots remain rain-resistant: they incorporate the in-house waterproof and breathable membrane (the famous Drytex). So the foot remains dry, and perspiration is evacuated despite this system of water cooling elaborated. THE manufacturer of Nero and Freccia also explains that the resistance of the boots is not compromised since the mesh textile has an abrasion-resistant ceramic coating. In terms of comfort, without having put them on, the area concerned did not seem thicker or more rigid than on other touring boots.
There remains one unknown: the price of this little marvel of innovation!
