DXR Stardust women's jacket test

The DXR Stardust textile jacket is aimed at motorcyclists looking for versatile equipment, not too flashy and above all gentle on their wallet. And my favorite passenger played guinea pig during our trip to the Alps and Corsica!

Traveler and versatile

Being made of soft-shell and Cordura, the DXR Stardust is light and flexible and is not felt, even after many hours spent on a motorcycle. Thanks to its waterproof membrane, it was able to withstand the numerous showers in June, without having to take out the rain suit each time.

During our trip, we were treated to all types of weather. The ascent of a few Alpine passes allowed us to yo-yo with the thermometer, until we were able to walk in the snow at the top of the Col de la Cayolle... The thermal lining unfortunately showed its limits at that moment. A feeling which suggests that it will be too light to face winter calmly.

Our little improvised tour around the Isle of Beauty allowed us to finally find the sun… and the heat! The interior mesh lining facilitates air circulation. We can say it, the DXR Stardust manages heat relatively well, despite the absence of ventilation zips. But it will still be necessary to partially open most of the openings. In the event of a heatwave, opt instead for a mesh jacket, more suitable.

The DXR Stardust: designed for bikers

The DXR Stardust is a perfect match for DXR Meta that I was able to test, and is just as simple and effective. The cut is fitted, and perfectly adapted to the silhouette of bikers. Only a few stars discreetly affixed as a signature illuminate the black fabric. My favorite guinea pig being totally allergic to any gendered cliché, she really appreciated that there was not the slightest touch of candy pink.

How does it size? Choose your usual size. And if you ever prefer to wear your jacket very close to the body or without lining, choose the smaller size.

No compromise on security

DXR has remained true to its principles. The design of the Stardust may well be quite basic, but there is no shortage of essential safety features. There are protections (level 1) on the elbows and shoulders. A pocket for installing an internal back protector is also provided. In the event of a slip, you can even count on the anti-abrasive Cordura to save you from burns.

Our opinion: Everyday and when traveling

The DXR Stardust jacket is designed for bikers looking for a simple and inexpensive jacket, which is suitable for travel as well as everyday use. This feminine garment offers good value for money, and meets all the safety criteria that one has the right to expect. Please note, however, that its thermal lining is unfortunately too light and prevents it from facing the coldest temperatures. The DXR Stardust is therefore intended more for mid-season/summer use.
