Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT jacket test

Do you ride regularly? Do you no longer want to ask yourself questions when a cloud front approaches? More than waterproof, the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT jacket meets your specifications, as our complete test attests!

The Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT jacket has top technical characteristics: on paper, it's difficult to find fault with a plethoric technical sheet, coupled with a design that seems accomplished. But what is this budget-friendly piece of clothing worth in real conditions? We confronted him with the harsh reality of the road in the North of France, and the verdict is clearly in his favor!

Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT: Rain is no longer a constraint

Let's start by discussing what the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT is awaited for: its performance against the liquid element. The jacket actually features the ultimate in rain-proof membranes, a Gore-Tex laminated with the exterior Cordura. On the highway, between the draught provided and the dense fog raised by heavy goods vehicles, it is clear that this technology never gives up, even on long journeys. Under its completely standard appearance (which is also its strength), the Riri Zip used by the manufacturer to close the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT also demonstrates impeccable waterproofing. The absence of a flap (rendered useless by this feature) allows for improved ergonomics and also contributes to the lightness of the jacket.

Another advantage against the rain, the arrangement of the cuffs

Sophisticated at premier glance, the headlines prove to be formidable in their effectiveness! In fact, they take extra precautions against water: a first elastic cuff (with thumb hole) fits under the glove, while the outer Cordura and its membrane extend up to the wrist of the glove. Suffice it to say that even in the event of torrential rain, drops or runoff (especially in the roadster position) cannot reach the inside of a glove that is itself waterproof! On the other hand, it is more difficult to remove your hands from the sleeves than with a conventional jacket. A detail quickly forgotten…
Better, in addition to this waterproofness studied from all angles, comfort remains exceptional throughout the road in apocalyptic weather... And for good reason, the laminated membrane prevents the “water-soaked sponge” effect. Undeniable proof: on arrival, after two hours of continuous rain, hanging on a hanger, the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT does not drip! It therefore remains as light as at the start.

Also an appreciable observation against the cold!

If in addition to rain, you are faced with low winter temperatures, you will notice that the Dexfil lining (an insulating wadding developed by Scott ) with its flap under the zip is as light as it is efficient. To cut short any draft, you should first carefully adjust the waistline to your body shape using the various drawstrings. On the collar side, a padded neckband acts as a barrier against the flow of air. Like the lining, you can remove it when a little air is welcome (separately from the winter lining if necessary)...

Finish: Truly above the rest

Performing in all conditions in winter and mid-season, the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT motorcycle jacket also benefits from a sophisticated design in detail. Between the anti-rain zips, the reflective ones carefully integrated into the line, the collar tightening tab with self-locking magnetic button, various tabs and adjustment cords or the connecting zip at the waist, it seems studied under all seams. We also appreciated that the risks of abrasion were taken seriously, with Cordura manufacturing, combined with reinforced areas on the elbows and SuperFabric on the shoulders. The only downside in this idyllic picture: some may regret that the back protector does not complement the SAS-Tech level 1 protective shells on the elbows and shoulders as standard.

Our opinion: Excellence has a price

A real everyday pleasure, the Scott Distinct 1 Pro GT jacket! It remains to pay almost €639.17 to offer its services. A sum that only those who really drive a lot will be able to allow themselves to increase. But if the budget to save remains significant, the performance is clearly up to par, like the shiny finish. Just plan to add a backbone (optional). The bad season no longer lives up to its name so well...

it is REALLY very difficult to find a fault with this jacket.. I live in the mountains, I have ridden it in all possible conditions and I have never had to complain about anything. Even after driving 4 hours in pouring rain I was 100% DRY!!! surrealist. The jacket is quite thin and really not heavy but I never felt cold or too hot (and God knows I can't stand that): Thanks for the breathable Gore Tex?
i was lucky enough to buy it at 50% off because it was out of stock… good luck finding one in your size again.
in any case scott convinced me and so did the gore tex. BE CAREFUL Scott is quite difficult to find, especially in stores.
